Hey there. My name is Roz. I’m not a professional writer, blogger, pastor, seminary graduate, or Bible expert. But I am a beautifully flawed and imperfect woman who is constantly chasing after the one who initially chased me. Feel free to tag along.
But wait! There’s more:
I’m a mother to an (im)perfect daughter, aka Monkey the Monster. She’s 5, but she’ll be 37 next year. Currently, she’s learning how to make words past tense. This makes for amazing, memorable, and hilarious conversations with words like sleep-ded and wear-ed.
I’m an introvert. But for some reason none of my friends believe me.
I’m an optometrist and unwilling entrepreneur at Envision Therapy. Basically, I fix your kid’s eyeballs and I love every single minute of it on most days.
I’m a CrossFitter at CrossFit Breaking Boundaries. But don’t worry, I won’t start speaking WOD or weave my ability to do chest-to-bar pull ups or how much I love to lift heavy things into every conversation. Like I did just then.
I’m obsessed wth bacon. Seriously. I make strange noises every time I consume that heavenly piece of pig. It should be it’s own food group and have it’s own honorable day of the year.
I’m fluent in sarcasm. And I’m painfully aware that it can be a defense mechanism….or just a way to end unwanted conversations. But learning a new language is hard.
I have big, purple hair and tattoos. And I like it that way.
I’m either always super early, or late. But never on time. Which makes procrastination an inevitable character flaw of mine. I’ll work on it later.
I love to play music very loudly in my car. Mostly Christian. Mostly.
But most of all, I love Jesus and people. Out of all the things I choose to do on a daily basis, this is the hardest. Especially the people part. But it’s also the most rewarding and fulfilling choice I’ve ever made. Loving people is where God’s peace, mercy, grace, and His will collide. Boom.
I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back. (Phil 3:12 MSG)
